Fine art has been a creative outlet for me
since I began oil painting at age six. After minoring in
art education at Purdue University, I eventually found
several excellent teachers in the Chicago suburbs whose
style and skill in portraiture excited me.
Since that time I've done many commissioned portraits, working from both photos and live sittings.
My goal is to capture the emotion behind a special
person or place. Recently, a rewarding experience for me
was recreating in pastel a photograph from the 1930's of
my mother as a young child. Along similar lines was a
portrait of a bride and groom from the 1960's who had
only one photo from their wedding.
Each portrait I do is unique in its purpose and
design, fulfilling that creative outlet I discovered as
a child. I look forward to working with you to create,
not only a memorable portrait, but a piece of fine art
for your home or office.
